This one-hour training provides an overview of emotional intelligence and how it connects to the core service orientation needed to deliver effective homeless services. Emotional intelligence underpins nearly every evidence-based practice in our sector. It helps staff recognize and regulate our own emotions while navigating high-stress environments. EI influences our relationships with guests, other staff, and leadership, and strengthens empathy and communication - key ingredients for building trust, reducing conflict, and supporting people through challenging moments.
